Case Studies

If you’re considering collaborating with us, have a look at these recent examples of how businesses have worked with the Trust in varying ways.

NORTH HUB CAREERS EVENT

As part of our ongoing drive to provide young people with opportunities to explore future career paths and practice key employability skills, we partnered with a range of renowned local organisations to host a Trust-wide careers event for our students in the north of Leicestershire.

At the event, students took part in a range of discussion panels, hearing from local businesses including Next PLC, XMA and Cross Productions, and universities including De Montfort University, University of Leicester and University of Loughborough. An array of Leicestershire-based organisations including LEBC, East Midlands Airport, LOROS, Leicestershire Police and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service also had the opportunity to inspire students on future pathways at the Careers Fair.

Significantly, this event exposed our students to careers they may not have previously considered.

“It was a really great event to get involved in, an opportunity to influence 450 year 10 students who attend 3 of the many schools local to Head Office. Thank you for hosting Lionheart Academies Trust, we hope to work with you again soon!”
– Laura Taylor, Next PLC

3G Pitch Installations

In 2018, the Playing Pitch Strategy for Oadby and Wigston Borough Council confirmed a shortfall of artificial training facilities for football within the Borough. Without the availability of resilient artificial pitches, young people of the wider Oadby and Wigston communities, where the Trust’s Beauchamp College is located, were missing out on vital fitness training, participation and development of key holistic and social skills.

After a period of consultation with the local community, the Football Foundation -  through the Premier League and FA Facilities Fund - Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, Gartree School and Oadby Owls Football Club decided to jointly fund the installation of a full size 3G football pitch to the rear of Beauchamp College.

This installation, which was completed in 2020, responded to the demands of the local area and now provides our young people with the opportunity for holistic development, through greater engagement with team activity.

The Lionheart Educational Trust hopes to install a further 3G pitch to the rear of the Cedars Academy in Birstall, subject to a successful bid. This installation will support the holistic development of young people in the North of Leicestershire.

Celebration Evenings

We recognise that the demands of the workplace require more of young people than just high grades; they require workers who go above and beyond in their efforts to succeed. We partner with renowned Leicestershire businesses, such as Cross Productions, Leicester Racecourse, XMA, Bakers Waste and Schoolwear Solutions, to celebrate hard-working and passionate students who do exactly that.

Our celebration evenings, sponsored by local and national businesses, recognise the incredible achievements of young people across our six secondary schools and two sixth forms, giving awards to those who achieve great 'Progress' and 'Effort' in each subject area. Attended by representatives from over 17 Leicestershire businesses and organisations, the events also provide an opportunity for students to meet future employers and explore careers not previously considered, while businesses build connections with their potential future workforce.

You can find a video of our KS4 Celebration Evening here, or of our KS5 Celebration Evening here.

“I love to see the community work together to ensure all school children are given the same opportunities to grow and develop. With an even playing field everyone has the opportunity to pick up new skill sets and thrive."
