Athletes roar at Lionheart Games
On a sunny day in June, Students from all Lionheart Educational Trust secondary schools enjoyed participating at our annual Lionheart Games, where the young athletes showcased their sports skills and competed with peers.
With the event having taken over Leicester’s Saffron Lane Athletics Stadium, students participated in a range of track and field events, which tested their speed, strength and endurance. Running races ranged from short 100-metre sprints to longer laps of the track, field events included long jump and various throwing disciplines, and relay races added a team element to the competition.
While the competitive spirit amongst the students was high, so was the overall attitude of the competitors throughout the day. Students supported teammates from the trackside, with consistent encouragement during races and field events. Staff overseeing the competition also noted the positive approach shown by students across all schools.

It was a busy day of competition which was enjoyable for all involved.
The students approached the events with energy, enthusiasm and sportspersonship. As a bonus we even had the sun shining all day.
We are very proud to facilitate this event, which provides students with opportunities to compete, represent their school and take part in a shared sporting experience across the Trust.
