Lionheart students celebrate A-level success

A relentless dedication to delivering the very best education lies at the centre of everything we do at Lionheart Educational Trust and, on A-level Results Day 2025, that commitment was once again reaffirmed, as sixth form students across the Trust celebrated another impressive set of results.

Collectively, results across Lionheart’s Leicestershire sixth forms exceeded both the national^ and East Midlands^^ averages, with 33.6% of A-level entries awarded grades A* - A and 83.9% at A* - C. We were also thrilled to see our average A-level grade increase from B- to B=.

Many of our students can now look forward to the exciting world of higher education at acclaimed universities, including Oxbridge and prestigious Russell Group institutions. Others will be developing their talents through higher-level apprenticeship schemes, moving into the world of work, or exploring new cultures on gap years before continuing their educational or professional journeys.

We are especially proud of all that this cohort has achieved and wish them every success in their next adventure.

Here is the round-up from Lionheart’s Leicester and Leicestershire sixth forms:

^National A* to A grades = 28.2% and A*-C grades = 77.7%

^^East Midlands A* to A grades = 23.8% and A*-C grades = 73.6%

Beauchamp City Sixth Form

Leicester

Students once again demonstrated their academic ambition with a staggering 35.4% of A-level grades awarded at A*-A  - this was almost 12% higher than the regional average for the East Midlands – and 83.7% at A*-C,  a testament to the aspirational culture cultivated at our ‘Outstanding’ sixth form.

Elsewhere, Azdin is off to the University of Leicester to study Medicine after acquiring 2A*s and an A in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, while Zira and Frances will both start degrees in English and History – Zira at the University of Warwick and Frances at the University of York.

“We are delighted with the excellent A-level results achieved this year - they are testimony to the hard work and dedication of our students,” said Associate Principal Catherine Bartholomew

“We hope that our departing students enjoy this next phase of their education and we look forward to seeing them in December to collect A-level certificates, and find out how they're getting on.”

Once again, our sixth form colleges have seen remarkable attainment. Our students’ grades have surpassed the national and regional averages; with over 10% more  A*-C grades achieved by Lionheart students than the average across the East Midlands.

The results are a testament to the hard work, resilience and ambition of our students, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff and families.

Our students' achievements open doors to exciting futures; whether they're heading to university, higher apprenticeships, or into the world of work, they carry the values and excellence taught during their time with us.

We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
